There are a couple of things you need to do depending on your situation, jurisdiction and location. Below are the only changes that we can predict that will affect you as a result of using Metrilo:
Make sure your Terms of Service or Privacy Policy properly communicate to your users how you are using Metrilo (and any other similar services) on your website. This requirement has always been part of Metrilo’s Terms of Service, but under the GDPR you can get in huge trouble if you don't do this clearly. We recommend you make sure your policies are up to date and clear to your readers. Here is an example of a nicely looking Privacy Policy: Shopify Privacy Policy Generator (Any store can use the generator).
If you are in the European Union, you’ll likely want to sign a Data Processing Agreement with Metrilo. We’re happy to do so. You can easily request it here: https://goo.gl/forms/bCZy1yqjXVqeMmZ62. We will sign it too and provide you with a full downloadable copy via email within 3 business days.
You will need to start collecting consent from your customers about sending them Email marketing messages.
Make sure that all of the subscription forms and popups are compliant.
