Once you decide to switch from an e-mail marketing software to Metrilo, you just need to sign up for our free trial and to install the Metrilo plugin on your eCommerce website.

As soon as you install our plugin, it will start tracking your customers’ details, behavior and orders information, for all of the customers, placing their orders after the moment of installation. The customer info is nicely organized in customer profiles, which you can access from the Customer Database tab.

Import existing customers to Metrilo

Since Metrilo integrates with the back-end of your store, you can import your existing customer database with a single click and start sending email campaigns directly from our platform.

The import process is super simple and you just need to follow the steps described here: How to import my historical orders?

Import leads who are not customers yet

Let’s say that you are using an opt-in form on your website or a pop-up for collecting leads, which you want to convert to customers later on. You can import their details in Metrilo as well. Just check this article out on how to import leads, it's pretty easy.

Once you do this, you’ll be able to see their info in the Customer database tab and target them with email campaigns, immediately!

Update status of unsubscribed users

Updating the subscription status of the users is probably the most sensitive part of the whole migration process, because you don’t want to spam the users who unsubscribed from your emails before.

There are two possible ways to do it in Metrilo:

1. In the CSV import template that you’d send us for importing leads (mentioned above), there is a column for updating the subscription status. If you send us the sheet including the status of each customer, we will update it Metrilo.

2. You can manually unsubscribe users from the interface of the tool. Just visit the profile of the user that you want to unsubscribe in the Customer database tab, click on Details and turn the Subscribed button off.

Next, send your first email campaign

After you’ve imported your customers/ leads database, you can easily set up your first email campaign with Metrilo. Just use the guidelines here: How to send my first Email campaign using Metrilo.
